This issue takes a close look at one fishing village working hard to manage its resources by itself. There are interviews with the village head or Barangay Captain, women leaders, a schoolkid, and a primary grade teacher. Juxtaposed with the lives of the representative members of the village is AQD's research on Community Fishery Resources Management (CFRM) that started in 1991. It has become imperative that the Malalison "laboratory site" be successful, for CFRM might just be the country's only hope in alleviating poverty among coastal communities.en
