|dc.description.abstract||The Fifty-second Meeting of the Council of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) was convened through unconventional procedures due to the unusual situation brought about by the onslaught of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic that impeded the gathering of the SEAFDEC Council of Directors. The Meeting was therefore arranged to comprise the Teleconferrence Session, which was held on 19 May 2020 at 09.00-11.00 hrs (UTC+7) in order to obtain the Council’s views and directives for Agenda items that require urgent consideration, and the Ad Referendum Session, which was subsequently convened to obtain the Council’s views and directives for the remaining Agenda items.
The Teleconference Session was participated by the SEAFDEC Council Directors for Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Viet Nam together with their respective delegations, as well as the SEAFDEC Secretary-General, Deputy Secretary-General and the senior officials from the SEAFDEC Secretariat and Departments.
