This article presents the role of women leaders in fisheries management in Thailand, focusing on two fisheries management groups, namely: Sub Somboon Aquatic Animal Food Bank in Buriram Province and Kaoyod Small-Scale Fisher’s Group in Rayong Province. Historically, women have participated in various fisheries activities, however, their roles in decision-making and leadership have been limited. Through field studies conducted in 2020–2021, SEAFDEC Training Department explored how women have successfully led these groups to achieve sustainable fisheries practices and improve community livelihoods. The key factors contributing to their leadership success include their educational background, family influence, and strong community involvement. This article also highlights the importance of gender inclusion in fisheries management and emphasizes the potential for women to drive positive changes in resource management and conservation. The findings underscore the need for policies that support women’s leadership and encourage their broader participation in decisionmaking processes in the fisheries sector.en
