    Abstract
    A detailed account is given of the tuna fishery industry in Thailand, describing trends in general regarding the marine fisheries in the country. Fishing grounds, fishing seasons, catch quantity, fishing boats, gears and methods and the costs and earnings of the tuna purse seine sector are discussed. The present situation concerning the tuna canning industry, and future prospects for development of the sector are examined.
