An overview is provided of the current status of aquaculture production in Southeast Asia, considering in particular SEAFDEC support to aquaculture programmes in Southeast Asia. The plan of action for aquaculture activities, which includes a component on aquaculture and is used as a guideline to develop programmes, projects and activities for the implementation of the Resolution, is described. Details are given of the various regional programmes and activities in relation to marine and coastal aquaculture. Collaboration with other organizations and future operations are also summarized.
