The fisheries resources monitoring survey had conducted since April 2004. The activity first aims to ensure the sustainability of available marine resources, especially around the artificial reefs (ARs) and fish aggregating device (FADs) after introduction of improved fishing gear in the project operational area. However, the improved fishing gear such as crab trap and abalone trap is not widely used in the community yet. Then the activity objective was transformed to be monitoring on fisheries resources utilized by the project community.
