dc.description.abstractAfter the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions were lifted in the first quarter of 2023, SEAFDEC started to organize several events in person including On-site Training on Chondrichthyan Taxonomy, Biology and Data Collection to enhance the skills of relevant human resources in elasmobranch taxonomy and biology as well as introduce the techniques in data collection and management and identification of sharks and rays; Training on the Principles and Methods of Quantitative Echosounder EK80 to build the capacity of the researchers to effectively utilize the equipment for fisheries acoustic surveys; Training on Gender Mainstreaming in Fisheries Sector for better understanding of gender aspects and tools for mainstreaming gender in developing fisheries programs and projects. Nevertheless, SEAFDEC continued to organize some online events such as the Online Practical Workshop on eACDS for Myanmar which enhanced the capacity of the technical staff of the country in the utilization of the eACDS application.en
