Regional survey of heavy metals in fish and fish products: Myanmar

Abstract
The paper presents the results of the survey that aimed to determine the level of heavy metals namely cadmium, lead, and total mercury among fish and fish products in Myanmar. The samples that were analysed include black tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon), snake head (Channa striata), striped catfish (Pangasius pangasius), squid (Loligo duvauceli), cuttle fish (Sepia pharaonis), rohu (Labeo rohita), grouper (Epinephelus tauvina), seabass (Lates calcarifer), and giant freshwater prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) were taken from different locations in the country such as, Yangon, Ayeyarwaddy, Tanintharyi, and Rakhine.
