The paper presents the results of the survey that aimed to ascertain the levels of heavy metals, namely total arsenic, mercury, lead and cadmium in edible portions of commonly consumed fishes and those that are used in delicacies in Singapore. The fishes that were included in the study are sea cucumber (Holothurioidea), blood cockle (Anadara granosa), mitre squid (Loligo chinensis), mud crab (Scylla serrata), longtail tuna (Thunnus tonggol), and barred Spanish mackerel (Scomberomorus commerson).
