The Brackishwater Aquaculture Information System is a project implemented by the Aquaculture Department of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC/AQD) in Tigbauan, Iloilo, Philippines. The Project is supported by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) of Canada since March 1984 upon the signing of Memorandum of Agreement. The first phase of the project ran from March 16, 1984, through April 2, 1987, and the extension phase covers the period from April 3, 1987, to April 2, 1989. The overall objectives of the BRAIS project (phase I) may be summarized as follows: to provide for the training and organization of SEAFDEC Aquaculture Department to act as a specialized information analysis center for brackishwater aquaculture.
