Abstract
In this article, the authors discuss eco-labelling in the ASEAN region context, highlighting some relevant experience with eco-labelling of aquatic products in Europe. Reference is also made to the outcomes and recommendations of a regional study conducted by SEAFDEC which aimed to conduct a preliminary survey of the current status of sustainable development of fisheries and aquaculture production in the ASEAN countries, and to identify opportunities to participate in eco-labelling initiatives.
